Expansion
Matura Wine Intelligence arrives in Chile

Inevitably, when an undertaking becomes successful following the guidelines of its founders, the proven formula transcends frontiers. This is the case of Matura, an international firm that has proven to have excellent know-how in winemaking businesses in Mendoza (Argentina) expanding today in America, setting foot in another strong wine country: Chile.

A
nother big company is settling in the grape growing wine making Chilean industry. This time it is not a winery project but rather an initiative from the most important grape growing wine making consulting group in the wine industry: Matura Wine Intelligence. The consulting firm has produced some of the most successful wines, acclaimed by international critique.

Ramiro Marquesini comments: “Matura incorporates outstanding professionals of the world in every area of the vines and winery. From agronomical engineers and winemakers to experts in marketing and commercialization. The firm transfers specific know-how oriented to the commercial success of wines in highly competitive markets. World renowned winemakers as Alberto Antonini and Attilio Pagli, Chilean terroir expert Pedro Parra, specialists in technology and winery sizing like Mario Japaz, work with us”.

-Why Chile now?
-RM: “Actually, this decision was taken several years ago, but it had been postponed by different reasons. Chile has an outstanding commercial development with a clear exports profile. Without any doubt, this country has wines with great character and personality, in addition to an important platform for the development of international businesses. Our first clients in Chile are Concha y Toro, Viña Leyda, Viña Stampa, LF Edwards, and other big companies which we will soon make known”.

Ramiro Marquesini is a success facilitator with a great vision of the wine world. His experience begins in difficult years. In the year 2002 Argentina was immersed in a profound economic crisis. Very few gambled and played hard in this explosive context. Marquesini doubled the bet. He had gone to Italy to become the first Argentinean with a Master in Wine from the University of Florence. He rejected offers to manage wineries in France and Australia and he returned to Argentina with the challenge of establishing and managing the offices of Matura Wine Intelligence, firm in which he is partner with Italian winemaker Alberto Antonini.

He then commented to European journalists: “Beyond the economic crisis of 2001, I perceive a tremendous economic force of Argentina as an emerging grape growing winemaking region, which without a doubt will represent enormous opportunities”

At present, the reality of Matura in Argentina is very powerful. The firm represents the strongest consulting group specialized in the wine industry of Latin America, advising more than 40 wineries in Argentina and Chile. Some of the wines produced by the wineries Matura advises are considered among the top 100 in the world.

Since 2003 Matura shows resounding international commercial success, having managed over 30 million dollars in winemaking investments in Argentina. Now, Matura Group decides to establish offices in Chile, where they will surely re edit the success in which the company bases its international prestige.
